Since 2019, the State of New York enables undocumented immigrants age 16 and older to apply for a standard, not for federal purpose, non-commercial driver license or learner permit. To obtain one you must show a combination of documents that prove name, date of birth, New York State residency. You will have to take a written test and upon approval, you will receive a permit. In order to get a driver’s license, you will need to take a road test before the permit expires. Don’t forget that iDrivio offers courses in Spanish too!
