As a general rule of thumb, insurance providers will not insure drivers in commercial driving positions that are under 25 years of age. However, persons may work in different capacities in the transportation industry that do not require
them to actually drive a commercial vehicle.
Can a waiver be obtained in certain cases?
Because we certify drivers and not companies. In addition, companies believe that if they pay for the certification the certificate belongs to them.
It does not.
By holding onto a certification, after a driver has been discharged or voluntarily leaves the employment it prompts temptation on the companies behalf to commit fraud.
This certification requirement for drivers is a law; it is also an educational platform therefore the fee involved in obtaining the certification is tax deductible.
However, that request should be made at the time of class registration.
